13 December 2008. The 21 year old Kseniya Sukhinova from Russia was crowned the new Miss World at the finals in Johannesburg, South Africa. She also won the contest’s top model award and was third in the swimsuit competition. Kseniya (also Ksenia) is the second Russian contestant to win Miss World, the first was Julia Kourotchkina in 1992.
The 58th Miss World Final was one of the most spectacular to date. Miss World - The Final, is the World's largest live annual TV event with global viewing figures topping two billion. This year the 58th Final was broadcast in 187 countries and 373 TV stations.
We photographed her during a recent visit of all the 2008 finalists to the Mpumalanga Lowveld region, hosted by MTPA (Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency).
